The Virgin River runs through Zion National Park. This small river is, after millions of years, what cut the canyon that causes jaws to drop en masse each year.

There was a trail if you could call it that, that you were able to take up into the canyon, but you needed to have warm clothes as you would be wading in ice water for part of the way. We got to where the trail ended as the sun was starting to go down, not the time to head into an ice-water trail.

My god it is beautiful country.
